NYJRA is the Ambassador of the Japanese Food Industry to the U.S. and Japan.
The New York Japanese Restaurant Association (NYJRA) represents Japanese restaurants across the New York area, promoting Japanese cuisine and food culture. We conduct research and provide vital information to help address the challenges faced by Japanese restaurants. Beyond information gathering, we also actively make policy recommendations to government agencies.
Because the restaurant industry is deeply connected with various sectors, we offer comprehensive support to our members. This includes connections with importers, wholesale distributors, food suppliers, restaurant consulting, and legal advisors.
There are many paths to revitalizing the Japanese food market and spreading our culture—but we believe that Japanese restaurants play the most important role. NYJRA supports these front-line ambassadors through a wide range of initiatives.
Over the past 45 years, I have managed Japanese restaurants in New York. I consider it my mission to pass on the valuable lessons and insights I’ve gained in this field to the next generation. It is my sincere hope that, by joining hands with our members, we can work together to promote and grow Japanese food culture.
