Q1. What is the United Japanese Restaurant Project?

The United Japanese Restaurants project is an effort to raise awareness of and help support the Japanese restaurants that have been deeply affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. Please share your support for local Japanese Restaurants by purchasing a gift card, ordering take out, purchasing merchandise or even posting your encouraging comments to social media. Let’s united and rescue the Japanese restaurants we love.

Q2. I want to add my favorite restaurant on your site.

Please help us grow our list! Let us know what your favorite Japanese restaurants are here and we’ll get them added.

Q3 How can I get involved?

We’d love your help! Please spread the word to your friends, family, community and ask your local restaurants to join. Use hashtags #NYJRA and #UnitedJapaneseRestauarnt to stay connected. If you notice that one of your local restaurants isn’t listed yet, please add them. If you want to take an extra step, please find their contact info online, give them a call and get them set up with a gift card link. If you have any other ideas on how to help, or would even like to do things like design some swag for the site, send us an e-mail at nyjapaneserestaurant@gmail.com

Q1. What is the NY Japanese Restaurant Association?

We have been working on establishing a non-profit organization to help Japanese restaurants navigate topics like sanitation and hygiene and other related regulation challenges that restaurants face with specific cities and states. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, we’ve been devastated by the heartbreaking stories of local Japanese chef/owners struggling to find ways to financially support their family and employees. NYJRA members teamed up to building a community to support our Japanese restaurants. We plan to run financial seminars, share HR tips, and create more resources and initiatives to help businesses get back on their feet.
